Terms of Service

The deal between us.

Last updated 16 August 2026

These terms cover what you can expect from FlashShare and what we expect from you. By using the app you agree to them. We have kept them short and readable, because terms nobody reads protect nobody.

FlashShare is in beta. Things will break sometimes. Features will change. We are two students building this while sitting our own exams, and we would rather tell you that plainly than pretend otherwise.

Who provides the service

FlashShare is operated by its founders, Aufa Eizdihar and Rayyan Asyraf, from Malaysia. Contact: hello@flashshare.net.

Your account

  • You can use FlashShare as a guest, or create an account with an email address or with Google.
  • Keep your login details to yourself. You are responsible for activity on your account.
  • Give us a real email address. If you cannot receive mail at it, we cannot help you recover access.
  • One person per account. Do not share an account with your whole class, that is what shared decks and study rooms are for.

If you are under 18

FlashShare is built for secondary and pre-university students, so many of our users are minors. If you are under 18, you may use FlashShare, but you should have a parent or guardian's permission, and you must have their permission before paying for anything.

Payments

During the beta

Nothing is charged during the beta. The checkout flow is a test flow. We do not take card details and no money changes hands. If a screen in the app suggests otherwise, the app is wrong and these terms are right, so please tell us.

When paid plans go live

When we start charging, the following applies. Prices are shown in Malaysian Ringgit and include any applicable tax unless stated otherwise at checkout.

  • Beta pricing is honoured. If you subscribe at the beta price of RM 9.90 a month, you keep that rate for as long as you stay subscribed, even after the price rises to RM 12.90 for new subscribers. If you cancel and come back later, you rejoin at the current price.
  • Subscriptions renew monthly or yearly until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from inside the app, and you keep your paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for.
  • The SPM Sprint Pass does not renew. It runs for 90 days and then simply ends. We will not quietly convert it into a subscription.
  • School and institutional seats are invoiced separately and governed by whatever we agree with the school in writing.

Refunds

If you are unhappy with a charge, tell us within 7 days and we will refund it, no questions asked. Email hello@flashshare.net. This is on top of any rights you have under Malaysian consumer law, not instead of them.

Your content

The decks and cards you make are yours. We do not claim ownership of them. You give us only the permission we need to run the service, which means storing your content, backing it up, and showing it to the people you deliberately share it with.

If you choose to share a deck publicly or with a group, you are giving those people permission to study and copy it. You can stop sharing at any time, though you cannot un-see something someone has already seen.

Do not upload things you have no right to

Do not upload copyrighted material you do not have permission to share, for example a scanned textbook or a paid workbook. If a rights holder contacts us with a valid complaint, we will remove the content, and repeat offenders lose their accounts.

Past papers

We provide past examination papers and marking schemes from public and official sources for revision. They remain the property of the relevant examination boards and ministries. We provide them for personal study use, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any examination board, the Malaysian Ministry of Education, Cambridge, or any other body.

Fair use of the service

Do not do these things. They are the sort of thing that ruins a small service for everyone else.

  • Do not try to break, overload, or probe our systems for weaknesses without asking us first. If you find a security problem, we would genuinely rather you emailed us than exploited it.
  • Do not scrape the service or use bots to hammer it.
  • Do not resell access, or share a paid account to get around paying.
  • Do not upload anything illegal, hateful, or designed to harass another user.
  • Do not impersonate someone else, including us.

If you do these things we may suspend or delete your account. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will warn you first and explain what happened.

What we promise, and what we do not

We will make a genuine effort to keep FlashShare working, accurate and available. What we cannot promise is perfection: the service is provided as it is, and we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error free, or that every past paper and every card is free of mistakes.

FlashShare is a study tool, not a guarantee of results. It will not sit your exam for you. Please do not rely on it as your only source of revision, and do check anything that looks wrong against your syllabus and your teacher.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of FlashShare. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including for death, personal injury, or fraud.

Ending things

You can stop using FlashShare and delete your account at any time from inside the app. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we have to stop operating the service. If we ever shut FlashShare down, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your decks, rather than switching it off overnight.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product changes. If a change materially affects you, particularly anything about payment, we will tell you in the app rather than quietly editing this page. The date at the top always reflects the current version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the Malaysian courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
